Being confident is just knowing that whatever the outcome is, you will be alright.
Now granted, there are several physical actions that you can take to make yourself better at something and therefore more confident with it, such as a skill or sport, but to begin with you’re going to need to get your confidence from within.
There are 3 core thoughts for being confident and being able to master each one will allow you to walk into any new scenario with confidence in yourself and your abilities.
Confident people Know That Whatever Happens They Will be Okay
Confidence is all about the outcome and your ability to control or handle it which means that you need to understand that you can handle anything.
In 99% of cases, you can handle the worst outcome and, most of the time, the worst outcome won’t even be an issue the next day. Let’s take asking someone you like for a date as an example. If you ask them out and they say no, do you know what will happen?
You’ll feel embarrassed, you’ll feel a little down, your friends might mock you a bit, and you’ll walk away empty handed. Now that sounds pretty terrifying until you realise that you’ve faced those emotions before and gotten through them alright. You’ve been mocked, you’ve walked away from a situation with nothing to show for it… if you’ve done it before then you can handle it this time.
You can handle almost everything that life will throw at you. Most of the fears of failure really won’t affect you in a few days’ time… go for it.
Act Like You’re Around Someone You Fancy
When you’re around someone you fancy, especially when amongst friends, you’ll be on top form. You’ll be the funniest in the group, you’ll be the most confident, and you’ll take more risks than usual all in an effort to impress them.
Act like this all the time.
By acting in your top form all the time you’ll naturally always be on top form when you need to be. Even on the days when you’re feeling down, the moment you need to be confident you’ll tap into that form and be at your very best. To practice this, try getting some more followers on social media the next time you’re our or at a bar. By being funny and showing confidence, you’re likely to get people following you.
Know That You Only Get Each Moment Once
“Make the most out of every moment because you only get each moment once” – JamBuckett
That’s a saying I started living by after my first heartbreak and it’s changed my life for the better. You do only get each moment once in life, you can’t go back and change or even relive past moments, you only get one shot at it.
So, with that in mind, you must make the most of every single moment that you have. A moment could be anything from a dinner with friends to a date or even a day of work, you will only have that opportunity once. Make the absolute most of the chances that you’re given. If you want to attempt a joke then attempt it, you’re not going to get the chance to make that joke again. If you want to ask for someone’s number in the shop, then go for it because you’re not going to get the chance to do it again.
You only get each moment once so make the most out of every moment.
Conclusion
- Know that whatever happens you will be okay
- Act like you’re around someone you fancy all the time
- Know that you only get each moment once
