4 Easy Content Ideas for Building a Personal Brand

Creating a social media strategy to build your personal brand can feel almost as time-consuming as actually making the content itself.

There’s research, planning, filming, editing, reshoots… and sometimes just for one piece of content. But when time is tight or inspiration runs low, you need simple, quick social media ideas that work.

Here are four easy content ideas that take less than 10 minutes to create, can be made in batches, and deliver those quick wins when you’re running short on ideas.

Easy Content Idea 1: Create a “Tweet” Post

When do social media algorithms push out your content?

Instagram - 1-2 days

Facebook 4-5 days

Tik Tok - pushes out content immediately and then relies on engagement

Tweet posts, as shown above, are not only an efficient method to grow your personal brand across several social media platforms at once, but also make for great pieces of content. You can easily create a weeks’ worth of posts within an hour, they can easily cover almost any topic and are a great way to get random thoughts out onto platforms such as Tik Tok.

I especially like this method because of how it expands your brand across several platforms. The trick for growing on text based social media platforms such as Twitter, Threads, and BlueSky, is to reply to other posts. Additionally, great replies are written in such a way that they could easily stand as their own post with only a few small changes. This is to say: share a lot of value within your replies.

To make this process as efficient as possible, spend maybe an hour or so on these platforms and reply to as many posts as possible while also making some posts of your own. Then, copy and paste the text into a “Twitter post” template on Canva, make sure it’s spaced well, and you’re good to go.

Easy Content Idea 2: Use AI to Break down an Article

use this AI prompt to break down articles into social media posts

"analyse this article, create 5 key points, focus on actionable steps, create a short title for each point, make it human"

This strategy is a great way to boost your Personal Branding while generating high-value content efficiently.

Begin by selecting an article relevant to your niche such as industry insights, motivation, or broader themes that connect with your audience. Copy the article link into ChatGPT and use the prompt:

analyse this article, create 5 key points, focus on actionable steps, create a short title for each point, make it human

This will quickly extract the important information from the article, format it into actionable steps, and create a relevant title too.

Then, open Canva and design a format for series of posts, selecting backgrounds that fit your brand style or opting for solid colours to keep it simple. Then, paste in the titles and key points to make any changes required to make it easy to read. This will mostly include spacing, text size, alignments, and making sure the text sits on top of the background image.

Easy Content Idea 3: Use B-Roll Footage

using b-roll footage for quick social media content, footage of me walking in a forest, text duration: 3.5 seconds, inspiring music in the background.

The B-Roll Footage technique is a favourite among “professionals,” gurus, and motivational speakers for content creation due to its simplicity and flexibility. You can produce up to 50 videos just using pre-recorded B-Roll, all from the comfort of your bed once you’ve nailed down a consistent format.

Start by casually filming yourself during everyday activities like working, making a drink, or taking a walk. Then, develop your own style for delivering information by choosing a text layout that sets up, delivers, and expands on a key idea within 12 seconds.

For example, you could start with bold text like, “The mindset behind Ryanair’s success on TikTok,” followed by a smaller, impactful insight such as, “Be a content creator first, a business second,” and finish with a few lines that expand on that point.

This technique does require you to have some knowledge of how to keep viewers watching until the end. The average social media attention span is 5 seconds, so making sure the text lasts only as long as is needed to read it before changing to the next line is crucial here. This takes some trail and error during the editing phase, but once you’ve developed a format then this becomes a lot easier.

You can take this technique to the next level by adding some background music too. Using a trending sound or song will guarantee a boost to your views, while nostalgic songs that have been slowed down and pitched can add a cinematic feel to your videos.

Easy Content Idea 4: Create or Share Memes

Memes are an efficient way to increase reach and engagement on platforms like TikTok or Reels, making them an essential part of your social media marketing strategy in 2024. To quickly create memes for a personal brand, use apps like Capcut or Mematic. These tools offer trending templates that can quickly make your content relatable and widely shareable.

When focusing on meme creation, highlight familiar situations your audience experiences and exaggerate to create a joke. For instance, marketers might portray extreme reactions to a post getting no views such as going from mildly upset to dramatically heartbroken. Use Capcuts “Templates” tab to find meme formats, add a background image, and then craft a clever caption that fits your brand.
